Time

If only time stood still/ once in a while/ long enough for me to
stop and look around/ if only birds would sing again/ once in a while/
sing the dawn in/ sing the evening tides.
But time doesn't work for people like me/ time waits for no man/ time
marches on/ dragging us in its wake/ and leaving the dead and the
old.
Death and taxes, a wise man said/ knowing too much for his time/ old
father time takes care of us all/ leading us on and on.
Time doesn't wait for people like me/ time waits for no man/ time
marches on/ dragging us in its wake/ leaving the dead and the
old.
Time flies when you're having fun/ but it drags if you want it to pass/
knowing this makes it harder to bear/ when you long for that moment to
last.
And time doesn't wait for people like me/ time waits for no man/ time
marches on dragging us in its wake/ but old father time takes care of
us all/ even the dead and the old.
