Beyond The Purple Door

Slowly approaching the door she stopped to read the sign. Bold red
letters painted on the purple door warned: "OPEN SLOWLY, CLOSE
QUICKLY"
Heeding the warning she cautiously opened the door only to be sucked
inward by a force that could only be compared to tornadic winds.
Finding herself flat on her back she wondered what strange land she had
entered into. Shades of pale greens combined with brilliant purples
surrounded her - engulfed her!
"What primary colors make purple? Was it yellow and blue? No, that's
green" she thought. For the life of her she couldn't think through all
the confusion that filled her like the haze of the hot summer
night.
Her head was spinning, her body surging with a strange yet welcome
sensation.
She visualized being caught someplace between the moon and the stars,
possibly heaven or hell. There was no direction-no up or down.
She listened to the beat of an unfamiliar song and at the same instant
she faintly believed she recognized a voice that seemed to be
whispering, "I love you," over and over.
Caught up in the fury of a sudden summer storm she was thrilled by the
lightning quick impulses that surged through her. It equaled the rush
of a fast moving car, accelerating faster and faster! The feeling of
being out of control. Traveling up and down a narrow winding road. She
felt the coolness of the mountain breezes combine with the hot ocean
shoreline.
Signs along the roadway flashed in neon &;#8230;Rt 92, 106, West 70,
"The Forgive Me Church"&;#8230; they were going by too fast to focus
on.
She was going too fast-much too close to the center line.
"Slow down!" her mind screamed. "OH, TOO LATE!"
She had never looked for the "end of the road" or "detour "
sign&;#8230; Never seen the flashing warning
signals&;#8230;
She cried out!
She closed her eyes tightly and waited for the impact.
Visions and waves of emotions mixed with the childhood remembrances of
kaleidoscopes. Brilliant colors and shapes filled her mind. Bright
streaks of silver trailed from shooting stars - over and over
again.
She fought hard for a breath&;#8230;
She felt the hands of the devil touching her skin - she experienced the
intense heat. She slowly raised her head, opened her eyes, and watched
the angels dancing above.
Her eyes lowered as she searched for the devil. She wanted to see him
face to face again. But instead, she found herself gazing into two
pools of emerald green water.
Shimmering in the depths she read: "I believe if you have hope, you
have love. If you have love, you have everything."
She smiled&;#8230;
Remembering the sign on the door, she quickly locked the gates to her
heart&;#8230;
Because you never know who or what awaits -
Beyond the Purple Door.
