Searching
Part 1
In a busy city life, there lived a young girl who was searching for a handsome young man. This girl's name was Alisha Marie Taylor. People described young Alisha Marie Taylor as pretty, her long, curly blond hair as bright and gold as the sun. She was taller than most of her friends and was very athletic, beating most of the boys she knew at any sport. Unlike other girls at school, she only felt comfortable wearing jeans and a t-shirt; she didn't like dressing up just to get attention from the boys. But there was a good reason for that. Alisha was searching for a handsome young man who had to be perfect (for her, anyway).
She knew exactly what she wanted him to be: he had to have short, wavy brown hair and bright green eyes; he'd have to be tall and well built, like a professional football player; and he'd have to be a Christian. Bored one day, Alisha decided to go looking for her perfect man. She grabbed her coat and stepped outside, expecting the busy city street, but what she saw made her stop short. She was no longer in the city. She had suddenly stepped into a magical place with bright beautiful birds, tigers roaring in the distance, and monkeys swinging in the trees overhead. It was like she was in the jungle. She was so scared but at the same time, completely amazed.
Where did such a beautiful place come from? She thought. She couldn't just stand there any longer so she decided to explore. Everywhere she walked she saw colorful animals and plants. It was really hot too and it felt like the hottest day of the summer. Strange, she thought. What is this place? She had to find out what this place was called so she kept walking, hoping to find someone. Luckily, she saw a figure in the distance and she headed straight for it. "Um…excuse me sir, can you please tell me where I am?" she asked. He looked up curiously at her and replied, "Well lady, this place is called Sparkling Crystal."... She said "why is it called that?" The young man answered, "Well because everywhere you go things shine and sparkle, like crystals."
"Oh." she said with a smile. The man gets up and says "sorry didn't tell you my name. The name's Matthew, nice to meet ya." "What's your name?" he asked. "Alisha." she replies. "So not from around here huh?" he says. "Um… no." Alisha replies. "So what are you doing here?" Matthew asked. Alisha says with a grin, “well, I live in Chicago and it’s a big city, but when I stepped out to go outside, I stepped into this place and now I’m here and it’s really pretty.”I’m looking for a perfect man too." Puzzled Matt looks at her and says "a perfect man?" "Lady there is no such thing as a perfect man." he said. "Yes there is," and she goes down her list. Matt laughs and says "well good luck finding one; around here men aren't perfect."
She’s sighs and keeps walking. As she’s walking, she listens to the melodious harmony of the birds and all the creatures in this amazing forest. She thinks “how so beautiful, and how so lovely.” She smiles and just keeps on walking. After about an hour of walking and listening, she comes upon a frog. But like any person, she sees it and just keeps walking. “Are you looking for something young lady?” Alisha turns around and says “who said that?” no response so she keeps walking. “Are you looking for something young lady?” she turns around again and says “who said that!?” The frog hops up to her and says “me, down here, down here young lady.” Alisha looks down and says “you can talk?” the frog replies “well yes.” Everyone can talk here.” Alisha just looks puzzled but interested.
So the frog says again “are you looking for something young lady?” Alisha replies “well yes I am, I’m searching for my perfect man.” “Um um a perfect man?” the frog just looks very oddly at her. “Yes, the perfect man.” Well lady, there is no such thing as a perfect man.” Frog says. “Yes there is” and she goes to describe him. “Oh well, um, good luck in finding him because I’m telling you there is no such thing as a perfect man.” Says the frog, oh and my name is prince Oscar. Alisha sighs again and this time she starts to get angry because there is such a thing as a perfect man; why can’t people just understand that and help her!? She says “well I got to go.” Good luck with everything little lady,”Oscar says. So once again, Alisha is forced to walk by herself searching. As she is searching, she starts to sing:
Why can’t people see?
Why can’t they understand?
Why am I faced to walk this path?
Without a perfect man
Why can’t I just find him?
Why can’t people understand?
Is it me, is it him, or is it life.
Why can’t they see?
Why can’t I tell them?
Why can’t they understand...me?
Why do they look at me?
So funny...why can’t they understand?
That I need a perfect man.
Sigh, Sigh, Sigh, she walks and walks and walks, and while she is walking, she thinks and thinks and thinks some more. As she is thinking, she runs into none other than another talking animal. “Howdy” the monkey says. “Um hi” she replies. “Can I help you?” the monkey asks. “Well I’m not sure.” “What are you looking for?” The monkey asks. So once again Alisha says, “I’m looking for my perfect man.” “Hmm a perfect man,” the monkey looked puzzled. “Yes a perfect man, what is it about this that animals and people can’t understand!?” Alisha says really frustrated.
“Hold it miss, I was just asking, don’t be getting upset at me.” The monkey says in a sincere voice. “Sorry.” Alisha apologizes. I’m just so mad because every time I say this, animals or people think I’m crazy.” “Well I don’t think you are crazy...actually I think you are very sweet, pretty and well a little confused.” Monkey says and my name is Orlando. “Orlando, like Orlando, Florida?” “Why yes, ever been there?” Orlando asks.” A couple of times,” She replies. “So why am I so confused as you say?” “Well because miss, a perfect man just doesn’t appear out of nowhere. It takes lots of searching. It takes commitment and just a lot and a lot of searching.” Orlando explains. “You see, it’s what you see in their hearts that makes them that perfect man.” “But, I don’t understand, I mean I know the type of guy I want to meet and marry.” Alisha explains, and I explained that to you.
The monkey shakes his head and says “Miss, you have so much to learn about guys and love.” Alisha just cries, “will I ever find this man?” slowly she walks away, hot tears running down her face like a river. Before the day ended, it poured. “Oh great!” She stomps her feet and cries. “It’s raining, it’s raining and my day has already gone extremely bad.” “JUST GREAT!!!” she finds a tree to huddle under; scared, angry and cold she tries to fall asleep. She is shaking, crying, and miserable. So she starts to sing again, the same song:
Why can’t people see?
Why can’t they understand?
Why am I faced to walk this path?
Without a perfect man
Why can’t I just find him?
Why can’t people understand?
Is it me, is it him, or is it life.
Why can’t they see?
Why can’t I tell them?
Why can’t they understand...me?
Why do they look at me?
So funny...why can’t they understand?
And because she is feeling so miserable, she sings it again till finally she falls asleep and wakes up to the cold wet dew on the ground.(cut off if you want)(word count 1333 here)
“Ewww!” she exclaims. She has never felt dew before, only fog. She gets up, wipes her face and goes again searching. She is so hungry; she hasn’t had anything to eat in two days. So she finds a tree full of bananas and eats one. “yummm.” She says. Well now since I have eaten I guess I can go search; another day of searching…uggg. She started walking and she felt really sick. “Why is my head throbbing?” “Why do I feel like I’m going to be really sick?” she decided to sit down a bit and rest. She must have fallen asleep and slept for a while because when she woke up, it was night and the stars were out. Man they were awesome. Alisha used to love looking up at the stars. When she was little, her and her dad would go out every night and make wishes. He would tell her how beautiful she was and that she could be anything she wanted.
She used to believe that, but now she’s not so sure. Well she can’t keep thinking about this. Her father is in heaven and she wants to find a guy like him; the perfect guy. She fell asleep again and slept peacefully that night; dreaming about her father and how much she missed him. The next morning, she woke up to the bright, warm sun and smiled. She loved the sun, especially when it was spring and the sun was so warm. It felt like it was summer. The cool breeze, the amazing aroma of the forest just made her jump with such gratefulness that she got to be here. She got to experience everything that somehow never really mattered to her before. Suddenly something hard dropped on her head. It immediately brought her back from day dreaming, and back into reality; although it really wasn’t reality since she was in a fairyland that looked like a jungle. Where animals could talk and everything sparkled and was so gorgeous. What was that she thought? She looked down and it was an egg. “Oooo pretty egg,” she thought. “I wonder what it’s from.” She looked around trying to find an animal or something.
When she finally stopped looking she saw an animal that looked like a bird, but it wasn’t a bird. “What is this animal?” she wondered. When she finally got near it enough to see, it was an iguana. “Wow! So amazing!” she exclaimed. When she tried to speak to it, all it would say was ewwwwwowow. What is that language? I guess the iguana didn’t speak English so she kept walking and was like oh well. It was such a beautiful day. It was sunny and warm; man it’s like a dream land. Everything sparkled when the sun hit it just right and it was like; oh my gosh, amazing. Alisha was getting so excited. She was so happy that she was jumping and laughing and singing; but this time it was a happy song.
I’m so happy
Life’s so good
Even if it’s a mystery to me
I’m so happy
Life’s so sweet
Because life is a beautiful mystery.
She just kept on singing that again, and again and again. She was just so happy; and she didn’t even know why. But she thought ok got to keep moving and searching for my man. So she kept walking or should I say…skipping. She came across a little, old, short, man. “Oh hello” the man said with an angry voice. “Hi,” Alisha says kind of shocked that he was so angry. Everyone she had met was so nice and caring and happy. “Look miss, either move or ask a question,” the man said angrily. “Ok ok, so I’m here searching for my perfect man, do you think you could point me in the right direction?” She asked, as nice as she could to the angry man. The man just looked at her, and looked at her, and looked at her. “Look lady, there is no such thing as the perfect man and quite frankly you’re wasting my time.” The man replied. Alisha just stood there, astounded that the man she came for help, treated her like this. I can’t believe this she thought. She bent her head down and said well “can you and at least give me some guidance?” “No! No! No!, I am too busy to mess around with your crap!” angrily the man replied. Alisha walked away crying. She cried for an hour, and then she saw that it was still sunny so she just kept walking. So then she came across a young girl about her age.
“Hi,” the girl said. “My name is Kristie.” Alisha replied and said “hi.” “So how are you?” The girl asked. “I’m ok I guess,” Alisha answered. “What’s wrong? “Is it anything I could help you with?” “Well I’m not sure; see I’m looking for my perfect man,” and she went to describe it to this nice girl. “He had to have short, wavy brown hair and bright green eyes; he'd have to be tall and well built, like a professional football player; and he'd have to be a Christian.” She finally got done saying. Kristie just listened and said “wow, that’s a good description.” So what’s wrong?” well, you see, I used to live in this city called Chicago and somehow when I stepped out of my house I ended up here. So I thought I would explore it and start my search. Well I seem to come across talking animals and people and animals that don’t speak English. And I ask them for help and they all keep telling me that there is no such thing as a perfect man. And finally I came across some guy, who was short and old, and he was really mean.
“Oh I see. Well the guy you just described is Mr. White. He’s really mean to anyone and especially hate’s children, so don’t mind him. And I think there is such a thing as a perfect man, but I think the way you’re describing him is different than what people around here are thinking. You see, for me, a perfect man is a man who has a good heart inside and doesn’t care whether you say you love him; because he already knows.” “What do you mean?” “Well have you ever heard of a man called Jesus Christ?” “Yes but what does he have to do with finding my perfect man?” “You see Jesus Christ is a perfect man and there is no guy like him. He has the perfect heart, soul and mind. He died on the cross for us so that we could be free from sin and if we did sin, to be able to repent and be forgiven. He’s so amazing and he would die on that cross, take those mean things people said to him, those nails, those thorns, he would take it all again to make sure you and I and everyone has a chance to go to heaven if we choose to follow his word.” “Well yea I know all of that but what does that have to do with me finding my perfect man?”
“Ok, well, god has a perfect man for you. You can’t search for him. You won’t find him if you search. You have to let that man come to you. You have to wait for the right time for him to come to you. God will know when it is the right time for you to have that man of yours and so will you. I think that’s what everyone is trying to get you to understand. You see, here in this land, we still believe in a higher power. Me, personally, I believe in Jesus Christ or as my Spanish friend Senitra says, Jesus Christo. But many of the other creatures and people here believe in a different God. Do you understand what I am saying?”
“Sort of but I guess I still don’t understand what all of this has to do with me finding my perfect man. I mean, how will me believing in God help me with my search for the one guy who will make me feel special? How am I supposed to just stop searching for him, when I know he’s out there, here, somewhere? I mean I described him to you so why does everyone keep saying there is no such thing as a perfect man?” “Ok, I’m not sure if you do really understand. Everyone wants a person that is perfect for them. Everyone wants that special person that makes them feel strong, and amazing, and most of all, loved. But that person just can’t be searched. You can’t just go to a different country to find that person. You can’t sail the oceans and sees, hoping he will just appear out of the water. This may be a magical land, but it’s not a land where your guy will just appear out of trees, or by magic, or out of the clouds. We do have some very good looking guys here in this land, but you can’t just say “ok, that’s it, he’s it, I’ll take you.” They are not some prize that you play and win; they’re a human being. They have feelings and just because you appeared here from your big city Chicago, is that the name?” “yes.”, “you can’t just expect them to just appear to you; it takes time and it takes God’s timing. Get it now?”
“Yes I get it now; I guess I have to wait until God shows me the right guy. Thanks for listening and explaining it to me.” “No problem, anything for a friend. So you said you came from a city called Chicago in your world?” “Yes, I did.” “Cool so what’s it like in your world? Is it warm, it is busy, does anything weird happen? Are people nice? Are there people our age?” “Well, yeah there are people our age. Parents call us teens; we are the next generation from our parents. Where I live it’s warm now but that’s because it’s summer there. In the winter it’s really cold. It’s very busy where I live. Some of Chicago isn’t like that but I live in the inner city where it’s busy all the time. I drive, but many teens and people take these buses everywhere. All you have to do is pay and they will take you anywhere you want to go. And yes some people are nice but there are some people who are really grumpy.”
“Wow that is so cool. You actually live in like what I would call a fairyland. I mean, it sounds so nice to be living there. So do you have siblings or are you an only child?” “I’m an only child, but I have always wished I had a sibling. I mean sometimes I get so bored. I have my music and friends but I wish I had a sister or a brother. Someone to talk to about issues like the one I have now for instance.” They both laugh and Kristie says “an issue is right, but you just want someone who will treat you right and love you, and girl there is no harm in that.” They both laughed again; “No I guess there is no harm in that.” So what about you? Any siblings, have you lived here all your life? Are your parents nice? “Well, I don’t have parents. I live with my brother Michael. He’s amazing and single, and so gorgeous. I mean seriously if he wasn’t my brother I would date him. He’s like Jose Costano; now he’s a dreamy.” “Um...who’s Jose Costano?” “Oh he’s this amazing fly soccer player. Man is he good.” “Fly soccer?” “Oh yes, you see in this country, sparkling crystal, we play sports. Fly soccer is a sport like soccer but everyone here has powers. Everyone has the power to flying, so fly soccer is you get in teams, and just like your soccer, in your country, you try to get the ball into the goal; but here, instead of kicking it, you fly with your wings and hit it. It’s so much fun, and everyone gets really into it. I mean, the guys are the toughest but we girls can always whip their butts. We just go to show that girls are just as good as guys and sometimes better.”
“Wow that sounds like so much fun. I want to play. I play soccer for my school and our team is really good. We go everywhere across the states. I have so much fun; and our team is coed so we also have guys on our team.” “Well we will just have to get some people around and show you how it’s done and since you can’t fly, well we can have you call the shots. Plus my brother is also on a professional team so he can teach you some moves to take with you back to your country.” “So you were saying that you don’t have parents? Where are they or where did they go?” “They died when I was five. I had a concert, and they were trying to make it as soon as they could. On the way to my concert, they slid off the road and into the river. The police or as we call them here, pompos told my brother and he told me after the concert was over. They wanted to wait to tell me until I was done singing because I had a solo and I was really good. So after they died I blamed myself for the longest time. My brother took me in and raised me and taught me to play fly soccer and now I don’t sing anymore I play soccer. So all in all it turned out ok.” “Do you miss them?” “Yes I do, but I have my brother and without him, I don’t know where I would be. He’s always been there for me, and when I have games, he goes to every single one of them; never misses. He stays up with me when I’m sad or I’m thinking of them, he rejoices with me when I do something I think is great; and the not so fun part, punishes me when I do something wrong. But he’s great and I would never trade any of my life for anything or with anyone.” “I’m so glad I got to meet you. You’re so nice and pretty and you’ve helped me so much.” “I’m so glad I got to meet you too. You are nice and pretty too.”
“So how old are you?” “I’m 18; I’ll be 19 in two months.” “Really, I’ll be 19 in four months. I’m older than most of my friends in Chicago. So everyone can fly; what other powers do you have?” “I can perform magic, and I can do cartwheels in the air and land on my feet in two seconds.” “Wow, really! Man that’s impressive! I wish I could do that. That sounds like so much… wow! So when do you use your powers?” “I use mine when I teach. I teach little kids gymnastics in this place I like to call: INSTANTITO. It’s a place where things just happen and it was first created by my Spanish teacher. She used it to teach other Spanish kids how to magically write their Spanish alphabet than do tumbling to go with them. It’s such an amazing place. So that’s my job here. We don’t really have school here. It’s more like they help us to get ready for the job we want to do.” “Oh that’s cool.” “So I’m hungry, want to get something to eat?” “Yea I’m starving and I’ve only eaten a banana and I have no place to stay. I’ve been sleeping under trees.” “Well we will have to get something in that belly of yours and you can stay with my brother and me; he won’t mind.” “You sure he won’t mind?” “Yeah I’m defiantly sure.”
So they walked to Kristie’s house and her brother was home. “Hey mike, I’m home.” Kristie yelled. “Up here” he yelled back. So Kristie and Alisha went upstairs and surly enough, he was there. “Hey mike this is Alisha;” “Alisha this is my brother Michael.” Hi they both said to each other. “We just got back from the jungle; Alisha is actually from another world.” “Wow mike says really…where from?” Mike asks. “Um…a big city called Chicago. It’s pretty busy and we only get fog there never dew like what I saw the other day.” Alisha replies. “Cool…so what are you doing here or how did you get here; because we don’t see many people come to our area from another planet or country?” Mike explains. Well…and Alisha starts to explain once again. It took awhile for Alisha to explain everything to oh my gosh…this gorgeous guy. He was so amazingly gorgeous she thought; she couldn’t even take her eyes off of him. When she got done explaining, mike was like “hmmm that’s an interesting story and you’re looking for a perfect guy (in your opinion)?” “Yes sir”…Alisha replied. “Well do I fit this criteria?” mike asked just picking on her, making a joke. Well…and Alisha and Kristie started to go along with his joke. It was so funny just to hear themselves.
Ok we need to stop making jokes, they all said with a laugh. “So this perfect guy…mike started to say…have you had any luck finding him?” “Unfortunately, no,” Alisha said sadly. “I’ve even asked everyone…and this one guy I asked, he was really mean, old, and grumpy like he woke up on the wrong side of the bed or something and it wasn’t funny. He made me cry.” “Oh, that’s Mr. White… and yea well he hates kids, that’s why he has none of his own. He used to be married but his wife died in a miscarriage and he’s never liked kids since then. I think kids make him remember his wife and how they might have had a child if she never miscarried and how maybe she might still be alive…in other words, I think he blames himself for her death.” Mike said. “So how about something to eat?” Kristie suggested. Ok mike and Alisha said satisfied.
Wondering
Part 2
They all walked to the kitchen. “Wow your kitchen is so pretty,” Alisha said shocked. “Yea our parents painted it. It was my mom’s idea and my dad didn’t like it at first but then they decided to agree on a color and yellow is what they agreed on.” Kristie informed Alisha. “Wow it’s so gorgeous. Especially with the flowers on the walls…it makes it look so Spring like. How come everything here is so colorful and magical?” Alisha asked. “Well I don’t know but that is why it’s called sparkling crystal. Everything sparkles and shines and is just really colorful…that’s what makes this such a magical place and that’s why we are both here. I couldn’t imagine living in another world but here.” Kristie kept explaining. Finally it was time to sit and relax. It was night time and the sky was as clear as crystals. The stars were out and it was so amazing. This really was a magical place and Alisha still couldn’t believe she was there and still doesn’t understand how she got here; but she was glad she was here for the time she had. She also really wanted to get back home. She was wondering, how do I get home…I don’t even know how I got here in the first place .But before she went to go see them she decided to write some poems.
Glowing moon, sparkling stars, brisk night sky, the twinkle in your eye, beautiful blue sky, shinning of the sun, the fluffy clouds, god smiling down on us. The sweet singing, of angels above, this great peace, god gives us each day. I have been on many journeys. I have traveled with 4 girls who have gone to many places. They soon discovered that they needed to feel a sense of belonging. Those 4 girls called them self “the sisterhood of the traveling pants” why because the pants made them feel like they belonged and they would always be there for each other. I have been to Jurassic park fighting off the dinosaurs that are now extinct. I have traveled to London England with Ebenezer Scrooge Aka (Charles Dickens) who was visited by 3 ghosts who showed him his past, present and future. By doing that they showed him what the real meaning of Christmas is. I have also traveled down a biblical journey.
I have been with Daniel who was dealing with lions. I have prayed and by doing that I was able to shut the lion’s mouths and stay protected. I have been on Noah’s ark. I have spent many months building this ark for this flood I didn’t know was going to come. All I knew is that god told me to and I just started building it. By doing so my family was safe and all gods’ animals and god promised he would never flood the earth again, by sending us a rainbow. I have also been to Bethlehem. I was one of the Shepherd’s who got to see Jesus (our savior born)…What a miraculous and amazing thing to see. The joy of amazement and happiness on Joseph’s and Mary’s face was priceless. I have also passed by to see Jesus feeding the 5000. Just amazement how so little can do so much. And that was my biblical journey but I have also traveled a spiritual journey.
This spiritual journey is very cool. Through this I have been able to see where I am in Christ and where I eventually want to be when I finally get to be with him up in heaven. How often am I reading my bible and praying and really understanding his word. How often I practice Christ like behavior and helping others and myself. Have I accepted Christ as my lord and savior and if I have, how well have I kept that commitment to myself and god? This journey I am still traveling. This journey will never end.
My point in telling you this is we all travel journeys. We all travel many different and even complex journeys. The one is our actual life with friends and family and loved ones, one is if we read, where to do we go? Where does that book take us? For Christians, where is our spiritual journey taking us? Down or up? So if you think you don’t ever travel journeys, think again. We all travel.
“Life is a journey, not a destination.
She finally decided it was time to go talk to someone. She thought…Maybe Kristie and mike could help me
figure it out.
At about 9pm they all went outside and lay on the porch. They all looked up at the stars and talked. But then, Kristie had to get something so she left and that left mike and Alisha outside. So mike says “what’s it like where you live?” well…I live in a busy city and we don’t ever have dew…just fog. “Are there kids our age?” “Yes there are kids my age there. My friends and I are together all the time. I am actually on a soccer team there and we are pretty good. We go everywhere. I’m the one who makes all the goals though because I’m so good.” “Wow so you play soccer too?” “Yes I do.” “Cool, I play too and I’m a short stop. I also make all the goals. Maybe you and I should play sometime.” “That would be fun.” “Cool. So you want to take a walk with me?” “Sure.” They held hands. Alisha thought…hmmm I wonder if he likes me. She was smiling and as they were walking, she caught him smiling at her too. And then he said something that she didn’t think she would hear but had a feeling. Alisha…I like you, the fact that somehow you even got here is strange but we have never had anyone from another world or country come here before. You are really interesting and sweet and that’s why I like you.” Alisha couldn’t find the words to say so all she did was smile and say “thanks.” “I like you too. The way your sister described you…I couldn’t believe it was true. I couldn’t believe it until I saw you and that’s when I knew that you were gorgeous just liked she described you.”
They finally stopped after walking for an hour in a half. They stopped at a pond and they just sat down and gazed. “Wow…it’s so beautiful. How does such a place exist?” She asked. “It’s our secret. No one knows about this place and how you got here, still puzzles me but I’m glad you’re here. But I am guessing you miss home right?” “Yes I am. I miss my friends and my parents. I even if you can believe this, miss homework. You know this is a different time zone. Like, when it’s light here, it’s dark there. And here it’s summer, but where I live, its spring. But I am so happy I got to experience such an amazing place. I mean I guess in a way…I’m jealous.” “Yes I can defiantly see your side of it. It would be different. But you know, God made this life, he made your life and we are all connected to each other. He’s very powerful and I think that by us living here, it shows that.” “So you believe in Jesus Christ?” “Yes I do; I believe Kristie and I parents are in heaven with the angels. I also believe that they are looking down on us every day of every minute of every hour.
I believe that we shall live with him in heaven for eternity and be happy. And I also believe that he makes things happen for a reason, even if we don’t understand the reason.” “But how can you believe all of that, and accept that your parents are gone from you forever?” “Well, that’s a good question. I guess, it’s because I have faith, I know that Christ died on the cross for us. I know that he rose again from the grave. I know that when things happen…it only happens for a reason we may not understand but god does. Sometimes we just have to accept the way life is, even if we don’t agree. I also know that when the right man is near you, you will know for sure.” “Well I think we should start heading back. It’s almost 11pm and I’m getting tired.” “Yes you’re probably right.” So they both started to head back to the house. Mike held her tight…so that she wouldn’t be so cold. The night was quiet, all the birds, monkeys, iguana’s and all the other animals were sound asleep.
They finally got back to the house. “So you want me to teach you how to play fly soccer tomorrow?” “Really, yeah…but how can I if I can’t fly?” “Well, that’s the tricky thing. You can’t fly so we will just have you be the referee and call all the goals ok?” “But I can still teach you to play, and you can teach me and the others how to play a sport from your world…deal?” “Ok, deal.” All Alisha could do was smile. He was so cute and smart and just plain cute. When they walked into the house, Kristie was there watching television. “Hey guys…how was the walk?” “It was so nice…we had a good time.” Mike smiled and winked at Alisha. Alisha started to form these words in her head that ended up being another poem. It was called “Walking on sunshine, full of love”
I’m walking on sunshine, full of love, I’m walking on clouds, big and fluffy, I’m laughing, smiling, you can see me glowing, I’m walking on sunshine, full of love. I’m dancing in circles, singing and shouting, I’m filled with love, my heart is ringing, I’m dancing in circles, oh my word!, what a day it will be, I think I’m in love! so I’m walking on sunshine, full of love, how awesome is that, my hearts a beating.
Kristie saw this and immediately took Alisha by the arm and dragged her up to her bedroom. “Oh my gosh! What happened with you two while I was gone?” Kristie exclaimed excitedly. “What do you mean, what happened between the two of us?” Alisha exclaimed back. “Don’t give me that, he likes you and girl I can see it in your eyes that you like him.”
“Well maybe I do, but come on…can he really be the one I’ve been searching for? I mean the thing is, he doesn’t meet any of the criteria I described except he’s gorgeous.” Hmmm she thought. They both climbed onto the bed, turned the television on and just had girl talk for most of the night. They giggled, had some candy and popcorn and then at around 3am in the morning they both finally drifted off to sleep. Alisha had this amazing dream. She dreamt about mike and her getting married, but then she woke up! Wait how could they get married….they both live in different worlds. Could she possibly stay in this magical place filled with wonder and beauty, or could she go back to Chicago where her friends were? Could he possibly leave this world and go live with her in the busy city of Chicago? This kept her wondering and up the rest of the night.
The next morning, the sun had shown bright in their window. It was so bright that it could have blinded them. And Alisha was still thinking about her dream. Kristie woke up and looked at Alisha. “What’s wrong…what’s that thinking face for girl?” Alisha looked at Kristie and said girl, “I had the strangest dream and now I can’t get it out of my head.” “Well what was it about?” “It was about mike and I. We were getting married and oh my gosh girl, it was such a beautiful wedding. It was at night, under the stars and you were my bride’s maid a long with a few of my friends. Girl it was so special and romantic!? “So then what is the problem?” How can we even get married; I live in a different world in a busy city called Chicago and you and he live in this beautiful magical place where everything makes sense?” “Oh well that is a problem girl. I don’t really have an answer for you on that one. I never even thought of that. But I will say if you truly love him then you two will make it work.” How do I know if I truly love him? “Well, do you know what love really is?” “Yes of course I do, you’ve told me like a million times.” “Ok then, you have nothing to worry about now do you?” “I guess not.” “Let’s go get some breakfast and get ready for the day, or better yet, let’s go get mike up.” They both ran into mikes room and woke him up, they jumped on him and Kristie went and poured cold water on his face.
“What did you do that for, mike exclaimed? Everything is soaked thanks to you two, now I actually have to do my wash.” They both looked at him in shock…was he angry at them? They both left his room so that he could get dressed and went and ate breakfast. “I’m not angry with you two; I’m just going to…..tickle you!” Kristie and Alisha both screamed and ran for their lives. They were all giggling by the time they hit the living room. Mike looked at Alisha and said… “You are an amazing girl and I love you.” Alisha couldn’t say anything; she couldn’t even do anything but smile and then she said… “Do you really mean that?” Mike looks at her, gazes into her beautiful blue eyes and says “yes I do mean that with all my heart. I don’t say I love you to anyone except my sister…So when I say it with you…I really mean I love you…as in I love love you. I also had a dream about you, and we were getting married outside under the stars.” “Are you serious? I had that same dream last night. I didn’t know what to make of it but now I know we are on the same page.”
Unfolding
Part 3
Alisha decided to take some time for herself and take a walk in the woods. It was so peaceful and she could hear the birds chirping and all the animals just talking together in their own language. Since this was a magical place and some of the animals could talk, Alisha thought that maybe they could help, but really they couldn’t. As she was walking she realized that maybe she wasn’t supposed to be looking, maybe she was supposed to be realizing. The life she had before she came to this magical place was real, but this seems real too. She thought, I wish I knew what to do, I wish I knew what to say. I really don’t know the real god. I really don’t know what to believe. I don’t want to hurt him but I need to do what I need to do, but what was that exactly? So she went to go find Mike to maybe figure things out.
“Mike can I talk to you?” “Yes you may, come in. So what’s on your mind?” “I don’t belong in this world and because I don’t, I can’t be with you. I need to go back to my life, the life that’s real. I can’t date you, I don’t need a boyfriend. I’ve been thinking about what everyone has been saying, and I decided to take a walk and figure things out for myself.”I don’t really know the god you know. My family didn’t really believe in god, so I was never brought up to realize who god was or really why I couldn’t understand what everyone was saying.” “And did you figure things out?” “I realized that you may hurt someone and by doing that you may hurt yourself, but in time, god will reveal your perfect person to you or the perfect person in your image or mind. I realized that right now I just need to take it day by day and let god do the rest. I don’t need to be sad because I can’t find what I’m looking for because the truth is, I’m never going to find him, because I’m looking for him. This is what I want instead of what god wants and I finally realize that. I like you so much it hurts to say this but somehow I feel that you and Kristie have made me a better person. You’ve made me realize some things and I opened up to you which I haven’t done in a long long time. I wanted to say thank you. So for now, we can’t be together. You belong here and I don’t.” Mike let her finish then spoke and then said: “GOD WHISPERS”
God finds a way to get through to people; he may place someone in your life,
Or take you on a journey that will keep you guessing...as he whispers... “I am the way.”
As the journey begins, you may find yourself taking twist and turns,
You may feel like you’re on a roller coaster, nonstop as you hear.. “I am the way.”
You keep hearing these words, can’t get a way, and can’t hide.
Then you hear no more tears, no more lies...Follow me “I am the way.”
Whatever the reason may be, you should trust and have faith in him...he knows the direction
He wants you to go in...So what will you do? God whispers “I am the beginning and the end, follow me,
And I will make you fishers of men.” Shhhhhhhh…” I am the way.” Shhhhhh
He also then said: I love you no matter what, it doesn't matter what you've done, at first I didn't know you, then I grew to like you, and now I really love you. The life I had before I met you, is the life I never want to go back to. You brought me from darkness and into the light; you’ve set me free and let me fly. And then he kept going by saying…
“Wow, I’m so proud of you. You took a stand for what you need in your life and you’re making it happen for you. This is your story, and its slowly unfolding…you decide how it will end. And I will always be here for you. I will always pray for you and you can call anytime. I love you and I know you are making the right decision.”
Alisha couldn’t believe what she was hearing and how sincere and true and again handsome he was. So she did just that. This is my life and my story. So all in all, this is how I will leave this story…the perfect person will come…in god’s timing. Remember that everyone is beautiful in god’s eyes and no guy or anyone can tell you different. Sometimes the thing you’re looking for is right in front of you, or in pictures. Take the advice and decide what to do with it. Because we are all looking for someone special to share everything with…it’s just a matter of time. And for the rest of what happened to Alisha, whether she returned or stayed…well that’s for you to decide. Take this and write your own ending because I as it stands right now…I’m still trying to figure mine out.
*Can someone tell me what they think about this...I wrote it awhile ago and I want some opinions on it...just writing for fun.
