Brother Reaper

From shattered embers and fallen grieves
I sit amongst the hawthorn leaves.
And bittersweet reunion makes
of lovers lost and liar's takes.
So breathlessly lie I to keep
Under breath and under sleep.
Why did you die so long ago
When Reapers known not what Reapers sow?
*
Brother, 'tis I, your Kin
The one who salvages souls to spin
Into tapestries of Merlin's gold
And things which Seers still left untold
Did you kiss her as you died,
The owner of my shattered pride?
As dawn still breaks upon the shoals
And ashes take the Reaper's tolls...
*
Did she intoxicate you with Red Bordeaux?
Must you sleep still among her woe?
I rue the day mother birthed to you a life
Of things that God causes us strife!
*
I forgive you as I bleed
upon the blacker stallion's steed
and plunge this dagger through the place
Where angels' blood runs angels' lace.
