Boredom

Woke up at midday. That's more like it. A munch of the herb really
does give you a good nights sleep. Twelve hours to be exact. I'm
obviously up for the same procedure tonight. Friday night means there
is bound to be some decent pap on the TV. I've been tempted to contact
the boys &; go to a ska club this weekend, but am determined not to
imbibe any booze until I hit Bogotas nightclubs with my English
teaching pal, Keels.
I haven't exactly fed myself over the last couple of days. Breakfasts,
as stated yesterday, then a combination of fruits &; fruit juices.
Time to eat something substantial, so I'm off to one of the finest fish
restaurants in town. Strange thing is, the fish restaurant has about
thirty random looking pieces of cow/pig carcass hovering over the bar.
Not very marine like, if you ask me. Bueno - Loads of garlic bread
&; some fish covered in garlic. On top of my daily dosage of one
concentrated garlic pill, I must be smelling divine. Hope this will
contribute to my first wall of defence, when I expect to meet more than
your common housefly in the Amazon in just over a week.
I think a day of hunting out visa card facilities &; chilling in
some of Merida's various squares is the order of the day. Got to go
back to Bum Bum Tours, as I realised last night that Keels' address was
also in my filofax. May try Bogota Airport &; Avianca Airlines to
see whether it was found. Long shot, but you never know (never did).
Still no contact from my mama - will have to wait until she goes back
to work on Monday. The visa cash machine did not accept my visa
electron card, even though the Co-Operative Bank promised it would.
Great. Here we go. I've got enough to last me until the middle of next
week, but it looks as if I'll actually have to go into one of the
banks, which is a right fucker, as the banks are like massive brawls.
Literally, crowds of fifty plus seem to gather outside before they
open, then as soon as the door is opened - elbows, knees, headbutts,
anything to get in first. I think I'll have to brush up on some
monetary Spanish before I consider entering the anarchy. Keels &;
his pals are sorting me out with as much as $1000 when we meet. I will
pay the relevant amounts back into their British bank accounts when I
return. So, I'll probably only need another ?20 - ?30.
Rain again. Good few hours. Chinese, munch up then???
