You have not
asked it of me,
but I'll sing
a song
for you Girl, I'll sing you
a slow tune.
It's melody strikes
coarse and clumsy
upon all
civilised ears.
It's verses form
a bitter rhythm,
The chorus
croons defeat.
Naysayers will try
to traitor you
with their tempting scorns
Of this tune's
ignoble grit -
"Why, it sings it's song
so dark and low!
Bereft of our virtue
is this writ
he surely penned forgetting
the sweetness of
our righteous tongues".
Perhaps they shall
convince you also,
like they convince
me sometimes too.
This, I can accept,
let know you
only this:
Your song was born
from love in turmoil,
I sing it
just for You.
