Glory Be to God

I don't mean to piss anyone off with this.
But I don't really care if I do.

I wrote this during Religious Education tonight. Enjoy.

How can I believe in this
and put my faith in god
When everyone that tells me to
Is living a facade?

They go to church on Sundays
So they can say that they're good people
And they mask their sinful ways
By hiding behind their steeple.

They quote the bible
When telling me I'm wrong
Preaching their self rightiousness
Like a never-ending song.

How can you expect me
To follow religious rules
When I see the pope himself
Wearing thousand dollar jewels?

When the man who cornered me
Until I couldn't run back
Had a golden crucifix
hanging from his neck.

Put your trust in god,
I'll put mine in me
Keep your "morals" and beliefs
But just leave mine be.
