Romance sweeping up the day
Venison flesh cut
Claret drips from finger tips
Naked bones seduced
By poems fresh
Written first
In the heart beats of fear.
Red wine is drunk by bottle
Pipes are washed and burned
‘neath the lamp light
Profiteroles drenched in dark chocolate
Devoured by hot lips
Squeals of impulsive laughter
Falling nude exposure.
We hung the photo for vampires to be afraid
Tools fill shopping basket
Purchased to kill a cloaked corner
And keep the heartbreak at bay.
