Oh cruel cold beauty I despise thee
Twas you who lured me to her door,
And in vanity did advise me
To win her love for evermore.
To bare my soul, loose my tongue,
Give my all ,and seize the day.
Then you abandoned me to loneliness
When she tore my heart away.
Oh kind sweet nature I implore thee
As sure as night must turn to day,
Remove this cloud of darkness o`er me
And make this madness go away.
Clear my head,redeem my senses,
Release her grip upon my heart.
Grant me the peace that recompenses
Foolish love, doomed from the start.
