ATLANTIC YOU ARE RESTLESS
I walk upon your shores and let you wash right over me
I feel your power, your gentleness; I feel your majesty
Atlantic you are restless; you are free and you are wild
And I have always loved you, since I met you as a child
Your ballerinas rush to shore; precision chorus lines
Created by the moon and wind, unchanged throughout all time
Like surgeons with their scalpels, held in fingernails of white
They cut the cliffs so deftly; operating day and night
Your heart's within your coloured depths, creating many moods
From restful calm to raging beast, your majesty protrudes
I watch you from a safe place, high above the cliffs you rape
And ponder your enormity, and ever changing shape
The worlds best movies need no screens; the oscar's in you hands
Your spirit rolls to many shores, and touches many lands
Atlantic you are restless; you are wild and you are free
And I have loved you as a child; your spirit is in me
