Angel
"Angel, speaketh to me this last time now."
She kneels and looks to the sky,
Praying for deliverance.
She kneels and asks "For why?"
"Please spare me this last dance."
He sits on his throne, and in the pause,
"It is out of my hands."
He sheds a tear for the pain caused.
"You must dance through lands,
Over mountains and seas,
Through valley and wood.
Dance 'til you drop to your knees.
Dance, my child, for the good."
She weeps and the tears fall
And the devil grins
He replies to the call
Of a thousand-fold sins
"Wench, you shall feel pain.
You must run forever,
For all time, and on again,
You will never be together.
I want your soul,
I will possess your mind.
Suffer the blackest hole.
An easy way you will not find."
The King speaks in a quiet way,
"For your soul, child, I will fight.
Devil-kind will never see day
Will never see true light."
And so the battle begins
One that will never end.
Good or evil, who knows who wins?
"Lord Jesus is your only friend."
She looks to the future and knows her task
She must dance and die.
"Man, Devil and King, forgiveness I ask
And here, supine, I lie
So do your worst, Satan
For I know inside I will live.
Master of Evil, you are beaten,
And, you , I will forgive.
For I know of the paradise
That Heaven can offer
I know it with mine own eyes
Let this battle be over."
Thus, Angel speaks for the last time
And Angel dances
And dances.
