Woman in Black

She was already,
Rewind - the day she comes.
Everyone runs…
like dogs dashing,
I realise too late,
I left open the gate
just like I did the first time.
Young dog got out,
naive to the woman
too late.
I hide behind a tree.
She arrives,
She comes to me.
Dressed in black robes,
Scarf wraps her head.
Her face Pale and oval,
Chin pointed.
Her features strange,
uncanny symmetry.
Her eyes prominent,
Round and translucent,
Pin point pupils,
That see into worlds
Beyond the veil.
She looks at me,
curious - cool.
No emotion.
I hear a voice:
“She’s in control now”
(it is a fact).
She gifts my son,
A sheet of purple stickers,
Symbols from physics,
the periodic table.
Doesn’t quite understand fun.
Under her watch…
knowledge - revelation.
She has no entourage,
She is alone.
More law itself,
than enforcer of law
A force, the One
That walks between worlds.
