Beware of love that comes not from above,
That flows up feverishly from below,
That comes in the fire and the flood,
That does not restrain
Or curb the wild wilful siring of lust,
That then crawls and squirms in the dust
The love that leads to beads of blinding sweat,
The cock that triumphantly crows,
The cup that forever overflows,
With mess of potions of satanic notions
A brew suspended by wavering spirits,
That come a visiting before their time,
No rhyme, no reason, no blossoming season,
As soon as it ceases, it ceases to be,
Then nothing,
Nothing more,
For eternity.
