Rest in Wonder
In weakened mode of mind,
Sensing humility,
Transfixed, distracted
By motionless thing.
Exposed in unconnected realm,
A rising fledgling imagining
Bouyed in uncertainty
Edging to wonder.
Like ancient contemplation of thunder,
Doubtfully miraculous,
A wanting sign
Admired without a reason why.
The mother and father of fear
Inclined to hope, to dubious love and hate
The irrational's fate
A descending stairway to despair.
