Sometimes you get to the point...reference, where there is no way to
discern where you have been. I think I'm there.
It's very dark and I have no... Um...no idea where I came from.
But, it's very dark.
The truck glides on the road with lifts and it seems brighter over the
hill. I'm wondering what comes next. It's bright and blue, with reds
and greens. I'm excited, and a bit scared, it must be something big.
Things that are big are usually bad. I would assume...i don't really
remember how I know.
I think I'm made from the same stuff the truck is made of.
I think I'm metal or something.
The road is going over the hill and I'm seeing the lights and they
light up the whole world - or so it seems.
It's a large shopping mall going all the way out to the horizon. There
is nothing but shopping mall. Shopping mall all the way to the
horizon.
I then realize there's no plants or anything anywhere. I somehow know
there used to be such things, but there isn't now. I feel lonely and I
think I'm made of metal and plutonium. I think I'm nuclear and
dead.
The mall is lit with signs reminding you every mile that it's called
Super Cost. I wonder if people live in there. I wonder what they
do?
What do they sell? I ask and the others just nod and beep. I think
they're like me, but I don't think they know what they are.
I'm nuclear and tired.
If I'm like the others, I'm small and look like a trash can. My eyes
are plexi glass and my feet are small lifts. I think I can smell, but
by the looks of the others I don't know where my nose would be. But, I
know that I can smell because I feel that there's nothing to smell
here...or I sense it.
We stop.
The back of the truck opens and everyone lifts off the bed and onto the
ground and goes skating into the mall.
I stay behind to see what happens. But, nothing does.
It's been an hour now, and if I'm part of something, whatever it is
doesn't care if I'm with them or not. Or, they haven't taken a count
yet.
I'm tired, made of metal, and nuclear.
I decide to take off out of the truck. I cruise past the cab and look
inside. There's no driver. There's not really a cab. The window is
still there, but it's filled in with computers. Computers drive this
truck. I think computers drive me.
I cruise off down the street only to find more nothing. There's nothing
to see.
Something took off from where the others went in.
I fell to the ground and I think time has passed. I heard a loud
explosion and then I woke up on the ground.
There's smoke out on the horizon, big smoke. Smoke as big as the
sky.
Now trucks come racing passed me carrying more of us out towards the
horizon.
I'm lifting again and crusing to the next door in the mall.
I open it and it's large screens everywhere of humans having sex.
There's groups of them all moving like twisted animals on each screen
and loud music. I cruise through and find only myself to in the halls,
and yet the screens go on through out. I move faster, maybe 60 miles
per hour down some halls and it's the same thing.
Then there's a change of scenario and the screens showcase humans
eating food and this goes on and on. Then it's all sorts of gadgets,
cars, toys being used by humans - all on the endless screens and then
more sex and on and on. I'm going 130 miles an hour down one long
corridor, I'm moving in the direction of the horizon and the big
bang.
Things begin to get cloudy and red and I'm sensing heat and
radioactivity. There are more of my counterparts all along the corridor
fixing the screens and building the corridors back up. They move like
ants creating a hill. What are ants?
Something takes off in front and to the left and I'm on the ground
again. I hear a thump back from ...where I came from....i was out
again.
I'm getting it now.
Pulse.
I'm up again and begin questioning the others.
Who runs this place? Who owns the mall?
Out of the smoke comes a larger one and it has legs like an insect and
moves towards me fast on legs that are long and made of
"What are you?" It asks.
"I don't know."
"Why do you talk?"
"I don't know. Do you own the mall?"
"I was hoping you did."
"What are you?"
"I'm a captain."
"I'm nuclear."
"We're all nuclear."
