A man from Fort Greene was interviewed today for your position. He
is an excellent candidate. He told me he liked the idea of working here
and, as he said, filling your shoes, but also had other attractive
prospects and would contact us in two days to let us know if we should
proceed to the next level. I am certain we should enhance our package
offer since he is the best candidate. He is an excellent candidate.
There was, however, one question he asked that sticks with me. At the
close of the interview we found ourselves joking and engaged like
colleagues when he suddenly asked what was meant by the word
"organized" in the job description. I said it was just a standard
feature of job descriptions and retained the most banal meaning, that
is, not disorganized. He smiled, then laughed, and said, I thought it
might mean white. He then shook my hand and was gone.
