YOUNG EXPLORER RESCUED AFTER MINOR MISHAP ON LOCAL BEAUTY SPOT

Local lad Marduk Tibrickler, well‑known for his enthusiasm for the great outdoors, was safely recovered yesterday afternoon after what authorities described as “a brief inconvenience” on Pennycill Hill, one of our district’s most picturesque locations.

The rescue, which witnesses say was “swift and straightforward”, involved several members of the community lending a hand after the young explorer became temporarily delayed in what experts believe to be a disused mine shaft. Thanks to the prompt actions of a friend who raised the alarm, help was quickly at hand.

Mr Tibrickler was brought down the hill in good spirits and is said to be “none the worse for his adventure.”

HISTORIC FIND RUMOURED ON PENNYCILL HILL

In a surprising twist, rumours have emerged of a metal box of unknown purpose discovered near the site of the incident. Early reports suggest the object may be of considerable age, possibly connected to the ancient fort that once stood on Pennycill Hill.

Local historians, and several enthusiastic amateurs, believe the fort may have served as a medieval lighthouse, guiding travellers across the valley in centuries past.

The Gazette understands that the metal box, described as “book‑shaped” and “quite heavy”, is currently being examined by those with an interest in such matters. No official statement has yet been made.

EXPERTS SUGGEST ANCIENT FORT MAY HAVE BEEN USED AS A LOOKOUT TOWER

A visiting authority on old stones (name not supplied) has suggested that the remains on Pennycill Hill could date back to the Iron Age, and may once have been used as a lookout tower to warn of approaching raiders.

When asked whether the recent discovery might be connected, the expert replied, “Possibly,” before cycling away at speed.
