I wondered what the cost would be,
To have the clock turned back for me,
"there is no price," the warm voice said,
A voice like velvet in my head,
"And who are you" I sounded nervous
"I'm father time, I'm at your service"
"I heard you cry for help, young man"
"And help I will, that's if I can"
"Your father time?" was my reply,
"Is this a dream or? or am I high?"
"Where are you then?" I looked around,
And there he was, with time abound,
A frail old man, his beard so white,
A vision indeed, for this truly blue night,
I stumbled forward and dropped to my knees
"Your help is needed, so help me please"
He looked at me with eyes so golden
And took the clock that he was holding,
"Your not the first, your not the last"
"It is a simple spell I cast"
"We must be sure before I start"
"That this request is from your heart"
"And if its not and times rewound"
" The night you seek will not be found"
"And I'll be gone, but never fear"
" Instead you'll find yourself back here"
He looked at me and shook his head,
"It's not your time, go back to bed"
"And I'll return when you've agreed"
"That all is lost, it's what you need"
"The times not right, of that I'm sure"
"You'll have that night and many more"
I looked at him, my eyes were streaming
"I need you now, to stop me dreaming"
"Its ok" he said and turned around
"This love you lost, it will be found"
" I need your help don't leave me now"
"I'll use the clock, just show me how"
"My memory's fading, my love I've lost,"
"I'll pay you now, just name the cost"
But he just smiled and walked away,
That frail old man I couldn't pay,
For what he said at first was sad
But now there's hope of that I'm glad.
