Reaching out

Something bitter and something sweet.
It can be warm as the sun, cold as the sleet.
Something painful, something true.
All like the paradox that is within you.
You are one that I don't understand.
Harsh, angry words with gentle, loving hand.
Your face is covered by a grave black mask.
To find your real self is a laborious task.
You hide your feelings and your life well.
You gave up loving after the last time you fell.
But you still hope, and you still pray for the love.
Despite every girl carelessly giving you heart a shove.
I offer my hand, my heart, and my trust to you.
All I got back was an insult, and away you flew.
You scoffed my attempts and laughed at my tries.
You're so cold, yet you have such sensitive eyes.
Shades of blue, brown, and darkened ebony, they swirl.
Ever changing, luminous, you are the black pearl.
Rare and beautiful, your true worth you never let known.
Just open you heart to me; I'll give you more love then ever
shown.
But I can not give my love to one who does care at all.
Every time I try to give, you block me with an icy wall.
There is no ending to this struggle, distrusting fight.
Unless you surrender, I will disappear from your sight.
Last chance, and last chance is slipping away and down.
I'm lost from you, so do not search, I am no longer around.
