E-BREAD AND BUTTER TALK TO ONE ANOTHER.

At the breakfast table,
Was there before the household,
Bread, everyone's favourite,
And Butter to increase Bread's taste.
Quietly from its side,
Spoke Bread to Butter,
I am your Boss and it is because of Me,
You are there on the table.
Says Bread gravely,
I am the heavyweight,
You are not even a lightweight
In front of me.
I have adorned the throne
Which is the breakfast table,
You are my deputy,
You exist because I am there.
Butter, very silently bore,
The heavy load of the praise,
Of Bread, made shamefully,
All by itself.
Then spoke out Butter,
You do not know my make,
I am a very rich thing,
For I weigh more in price than you.
Bread wanted to open its mouth,
But Butter quietened him,
Keep your mouth shut for sometime,
And patiently hear to what I say.
In reply to all that you have said,
I point it out one by one,
The whole mistake in you is that,
You have made your own elevation platform.
Tells Butter in a soft tone,
Brother Bread you do occupy a big space,
But remember the small space I adorn,
Is one of respect.
I point out to you again, dear Brother Bread,
You have called me your deputy,
Without me attached to your body,
What is your fate?
So dear Brother Mine,
Try to remember,
At the breakfast table,
We run side by side.
Bread dear, I increase your taste,
Because without me,
Men's palate will not love you all alone,
For you are dry and plain.
Says Butter again,
I am a natural product,
So also are you,
So why boast off for superiority.
You are good for health,
So am I,
And so people prefer us on the breakfast table,
And enjoy both of us.
Bread dear,
You call yourself the King,
But why make such a row,
When people are there to decide.
Come, let us live together,
And nourish people's appetite,
For both of us together,
Can give people a good 'food delight'.
Hearing the soft-spoken words of Butter,
Did Bread realize,
The wrong that it was doing,
In propagating for itself.
At last Bread reconciled,
And called Butter aside,
And said, I do realize,
That Bread and Butter both run side by side.
Bread realized that Butter was used,
As a plaster for its sides,
And then only people relished,
This food in delight.
At last they came to reconciliation,
That both of them,
Were no doubt interdependent,
On one another again and again.
