Once in every year,
Comes the spring season,
Which brings with it
The festive of the riot of colours.
Holi, the riot of colours, Holi, the festival of colours,
Is a colourful day,
And the red, green, blue, yellow, purple
And golden and silver all make it so gay.
Men and women, young and old,
Greet each other in a gleeful way
Patting and splashing colours on one another
And sweetening their mouth in a mirthful way.
There is colour, colour everywhere,
And there is hue everywhere,
Mirth and joy is all around,
Love breaks open its bay.
With winter gone and summer on its way,
The splendid colours wash this lovely day,
The riot of colours indeed
Is a day among the days.
