MONDAY 14 OCTOBER 2002

This is another important day of the Puja's. This is the third day and
is known as the Maha Navami. For the worshippers of Goddess Durga this
day has a lot of importance. A day earlier animal sacrifices were
offered to the goddess, and on Maha Navami those people who are
non-vegetarians and staunch worshippers of the goddess make it possible
that mutton is prepared in their houses. Even fish does take in the
substitution of mutton.

This day was also special for me. But for me I take only vegetarian
food on Mondays. So it was a 'Veg Day' in my household.

Visited the pandal both in the morning and evening. Fun, frolic,
enjoyment, excitement, all seemed to move about in the air. Every one
seemed so happy, be it rich or poor, young or old or even men or
women.

At the end of the day I felt that the three days of the Durga Puja had
passed off so smoothly and happily for me.

My mind is totally free from the regular work, only relaxation,
enjoyment, recreation and excitement has housed in.

The day was wonderful and passed away nicely. Was late for bed. But
before sleeping I thanked god for having given me this lovely day. Went
to bed with a very happy mood.
