Silence, except for the call of the birds.
Clear blue skies above,
And the heat of the sun.
The old building is bathed in its rays.
The cool green grass underfoot,
A girl sits under the shade of an oak.
Slipping her shoes off, she sits,
Back to the trunk and opens her book.
The vast green lawns to her left,
And the grey tarmac of the drive on her right.
She dreams of nothing, just
Sits with misty eyes.
Relaxing in the afternoon sun,
Not a care in the world.
She closes her eyes for just one second,
And slowly, slowly falls asleep.
