The Evil of You/ Hadar Badt
The evil of you is sinking in me.
Your darkness, while you sigh and utter the most unimaginable truth, is awakening.
Don’t deny it. Don’t deprive it of its existence. The steps behind are closing in.
Soon, the flesh of you will turn to bone.
You’re standing there, listening quietly, every breath is obediently taken from you and every glance is returned with a terrific shine.
Cowardice was never considered a crime, but it made us all sinners and beggars.
Always begging shamelessly for more.
Your hold on life weakens by the minute.
Alone, you walk through the deserted, dark streets, fearing those treacherous thoughts lurking in the shadows. You turn to look. Whatever was there is long gone, probably faded away in the growing night.
Glorious dreams slowly sink in the pillow from which they were first conceived
and turn into a distant memory.
The sleeping birds within, will forever haunt your mind and poison your
thoughts. Where is it? The road that led you here is long gone.
The evil of you, neglected in some distant corner, is breathing its last breaths. Your old glamor will remain in chains, until one day it will release you in me,
and the evil of you
will
be
free.
