Silent sounds IP

Once I didn’t have to do this
But I turn up the volume to
Maximum pitch
I know the neighbours won't mind
2nd movement, my favourite
I remember all the tones
The strings, the wind instruments
They are quite soft though dramatic
The majestic spaces- wide open
Pioneer country
I feel the beat and rhythm in my feet
In my stomach
My mind starts to wander over the plains
The wind touching the tall grass
Pilgrim footsteps, imprints on the New World
Wagons driven by strength and will
A new awakening
My fingers tap the armrest
My eyes closed, so as to concentrate
on listening with my whole body
My heart seems to beat with the music
Once I heard it quite clearly
Two decades as a welder
in the shipyards
Now I feel the music
