A Grand or Five

Ya know what I want today?
I want a big, pleasant surprise.
My life has become so regimented in its happy ever afterness that I almost always know what's gonna happen next. The next thing is always OK. I've come to appreciate OK. OK is good.I don't take a lot of risks anymore. I don't gamble more than I can afford to lose. I've got a lot to lose. I don't have much to gain as I'm already in happily ever after mode...retired with a beautiful wife a great house a new Buick and healthy children and grandchildren.
I do have a couple of wild cards out there however but the surprises I get from the Doctors and Dentists will never be pleasant only in what they aren't predicting.
I haven't won much in scratchoffs in a long time.
Let me visualize during this week of surprises, scratching off a lottery ticket for say five grand. I know it's been done. God knows I've taken enough chances to get that dough. I'll be happy when I get it but I won't be shocked. I've paid my dues.
Here's the deal if I win a grand, I'll call my scratching a lifetime win and walk away.
I'm gonna need it to deal with the surprise I'm about to get from the dentist.
