The halls of Academia,
how i love Thee so
Your tiled floors 'n paneled walls---
the Scent of all mankind
For on your shelves,
wheth'r ajoure pierced leaf o' gold
or leather 'n silk encased---Words,
The visible Thoughts of man's high-mind
"for we were created
a little lower than the angels"
If perchance you find me lost (even as v.Winkle)
sitting atop a Kaatskill o' books
addled, as one who drank deeply
the faerie's flagon,
disturb me not, for i live---i walk the pages within
The son of Libertas well knew
a Nation's Soul
Dwelt in Its written works;
Woden protect us from the Bishop of Alexandria---
"...save the Serapeum"
