Anyway I am riding on my horse on my way to Burgos, when I feel a few
drops of water hitting my head,I look up in the sky and it is dark
grey,I hear the sound of crashing thunderstorms, the sound of the
thunder makes the horse buckle and I am thrown off my horse,as I stand
up I find myself covered in mud and my horse has rode off with
everything I had,and the rain was coming down heavily now, there was no
shelter and I was still miles away from Burgos,I start walking, drenched
in mud and soaked with rainwater, but I see a cart in front of me.I
shout out to the cart.
"Hey there wait."
An elderly man with a beard looks out from his cart.
"What do you want?" He asks me.
"Could you give me a ride up to Burgos?" I ask him.
"What..."
"You must be joking,right."
"I am on my way to Valladolid I have to deliver 14 barrels of wine,my
masters' daughter is getting married." The man replies.
"Wine you say."I ask him.
"Perhaps you could do with some help when you get there, you'll be
exhausted." I suggest to him.
"I suppose I could do with a little help when I get there, well there is
the wedding as well, come on then get in." The man says.
I get on the cart, and the cart starts moving.
"Can I ask you one question?" The man says.
"Go ahead." I reply.
"Why are you wearing nightclothes,it's afternoon."
"Well it is a long story." I tell him.
"Well we have plenty of time,by the way my name is Rodolfo Diaz of
Catalunya." He replies.
"Mine is Alfonso of La Coruna." I say to him.
"Well now that we are introduced, there's a change of clothes in the
back, you can use those for now." Rodolfo says.
"Thanks I appreciate it." I tell him.
I go to the the back of the cart and all these barrels of wine in front
of me,my god I thought I had died and just gone to heaven,of all the
barrels that were sealed, there was one barrel that had a tap on it,it
was tempting,very tempting.
"Hey Rodolfo,is it alright if I have some of your barrel of wine?" I
ask him.
"Sure,go ahead." He replies.
After I finished changing use one of the wooden mugs,I open the tap and
red wine comes flowing out, until my mug is full.
I srink one mug, then another, then another until I could drink no
more, then I fall flat on my back, and that was the last thing I
remember, the next time I wake up I am in the city of Valladolid.
