The Count is furious,he immediately orders the guards to arrest
me,and of course I end up in jail, and a very bad one at
that, dark, cold, damp and worst of all barely any space to move,my friend
Rodolfo couldn't really do anything to help me after all he was still
in the service of Count Ansuarez.
I could see on the walls of my prison cell that I wasn't the first
'guest' of the Count,I saw stone lines engraved, with Roman numerals on
it,looked like it was quite recent at that, the year 1087 engraved on
it,a name was engraved on it as well, but I couldn't make out what it
said,it doesn't matter anyway. All I know is that at this moment in time
I am in a prison and I have to figure a way out of it.
I look out from the prison window,it was a long way down at least 20
metres, and the door was made out of solid metal,my only way of escape
is just to bide my time, and rely on luck.
..........................
SEVERAL HOURS LATER.....
I am still waiting for an opening.I think it must have been 6 hours
since I was thrown in prison, and worst of all I haven't been fed yet,I
think that is so uncivilised, they expect me to starve to death.
As I keep thinking of my hunger I hear footsteps coming towards my
prison cell door,as it opens,I sieze my opportunity,as a hand comes
towards me I grab it and throw the man over my shoulder,he falls to the
ground with an almighty thump to the floor, the guard is knocked
unconscious,I swap clothes with him and I search him I take all that
the guard has his sword, and 20 gold coins that he had on him as well
which would go a long way for me,the only problem I had right now was
to find a way out of the castle, but as I have noticed throughout my
life is that money can buy off most people to look the other way, which
is exactly the way I plan to get out of the castle and most likely
Spain now as I will have Castile,Leon and Asturias after me,with
everything that has happened, and all blown out of proportion most
likely.
My only hope is to get to the Kingdom of Portugal across the border
from the town of Merida.
