And We're off!

Golden moment 62:
Pulling out of the driveway to wait for the loooooong four way construction lights at the cross roads by our house. It's green with no cars. Immediate questions race through my mind; 'Has it just turned green and (due to the ridiculously early hour that swimming is scheduled on a Saturday, there is an utter absence of cars)? Do I have plenty of time to saunter up without a care in the world?
On the other hand, It's a long light, has it been green for ages? Is this green in its twilight times, soon to be amber and sullen red?'
Cutting through these thoughts were the boy's yells of 'Go dad, GO!!' I punched it. Prince George (an old BMW 524i (whom I am coming to love more and more)) roared forward, yelps of joy and excitement accompanied the engine noise.
Jaw clenched the green light approached as if in slow motion... Still green... still green (almost there, excitement and tension in the car is at fever pitch)... Still green and we are alongside and passing the light, dodge the potholes, take the a chicane of the crossroads and we are through! Cheers from the boys and Wyatt yells 'SAN DIEGO!!' in a cry of delighted triumph.
If only you could can these times
