"Honesty"

Half finished sentences, half written lies
the things I would say to those I despise
I grasp for the known the truthful and clear
I venture to places most people fear
there my nose gets cold, then my fingers and toes
the heat makes it worse and all the pain grows
until again I am warm content and accepted
dismayed to find pain and pleasure connected
I love the truth, words spit without thought
the look on your face, your blood turning hot
reality stings, sharp stab of the knife
the terrible truth that I know of your life
soon your wounds will bleed out, your blood back to cold
but you can't stitch up the wounds once the truth has been told
now your nose is chilled, your face squished in disgust
all the people you see masked in mistrust
now you long for their pain and their realization
that shows on their face as they reach condemnation.
