FREEDOM?

Excuse me Sir, I asked with trepidation.
May I smoke?
With your permission
I would like to state my view.
It's nothing special; it's not even new.
But it seems that when I speak
People all around me freak.
And so I wonder why we fight
For freedom overseas,
When our own rights are blowing in the breeze.
Can I keep my kids in line
Without incurring one more fine?
Can I tell you what I think
Without you calling me a fink?
I'm no threat and I'm no traitor.
I'm just one more anti-freedom hater
Hoping that my way of life stays alive,
Wishing all my thoughts and deeds will thrive
Beyond encroaching legislation,
Bringing with it burdening regulation.
