The Gilwell Ghost
Based on a real story
Sunday 16th July 2000, seven friends, who were on Cub camp, were
walking in the forest. Chloe, Katie, Faye, Dune, Ricky, Jessica and two
other kids came across an old Churchyard, with a statue and a taped up
wall.
There was an old legend that on Church day 1879, lightning electrocuted
a young girl dressed in white. It is said that every Sunday, a girl
sits behind a statue in the churchyard, with a little green man, like a
lepricorn, and a little dog standing on the wall.
The girl is friendly, but the green man is evil, he has the "Death
Look", a look that has big, wide eyes and an open mouth, if looked at
twice, the person who is being looked at, will die. A picture of the
white lady is placed in the Archery hut.
Chloe went into the churchyard and looked around, behind the statue was
the ghost dressed in white, Chloe started screaming and crying. Beneath
her screams, you could hear her saying, "It looked at me!" They all ran
back to camp, crying for help, two of the helpers saw her crying and
asked what was the matter, "GHOST! FOREST! LOOKED! ME!" and ran off
back to camp.
Ricky and Jessica were the only ones who knew about the Death Look.
They told the Akela, but she didn't listen. "It's complete nonsense!"
They knew someone was going to die.
Jessica &; Ricky tried to forget about it, but it kept coming into
their minds. Ricky was on the bouncy castle, when he saw the ghostly
clan move towards he jumped off and screamed back to camp. The ghouls
followed him, never letting him out of their sight.
At the end of the camp, everyone went home. Ricky was the only one to
hear the little green man's high, creepy laugh, saying, " You'll die
next time!"
