Unhelpful Symmetry

I thought to cure her world of ills
to stay her hand from numbing pills
I thought to show her brighter day
but now I find all gone astray
In love and faith I gave advice
to change her view of this sad life
I saw her tears slow soft, then dry
I saw fresh hope glimmer in her eye
but all that hope was in dispair
instead of halfed now doubled care
I meant no ill, I did my best
but all my dreams fell at their test
I see her anguish and her pain
her tears anew, a bitter rain
I pray to god to ease her strife
the woman i love, my future wife
her faith holds still, im me she trusts
but heed my words when foul deeds must
sometimes think not of longer roads
but act instead on those who goad
show how you feel, not bury deep
to save the shame as loved ones weep
I now must face an uphill task
the world it seems has much to ask
I will not fail her ever again
I will not be stayed when she's in pain
I'll bury my anger with those who cause
and make the world show proper pause
her joy is mine, not just her pain
no more tears will fall in bitter pain
In her resides a flame, our passion
my arms like mail, she'll round her fasten
I'll hold her close and keep her safe
when all her enemies dare show their face
only over me they'll come
and not until my lifes blood run
for this i vow until I die
I'll be her love, no more she'll cry
