I wept

I ran the bath
The water hot,the bubbles soft.
I layed my naked body down
.........and I wept !
Wept into my hands,
So I could not hear my tears.
Wept for the girl
Who as a woman
Had lost so many years.
Wept for the boy,
Who as a man,
Had loss the touch of love.
Wept for the love
That in it's youth
Had been above all,
That now stood alone
Ready to fall.
Wept for the secrets
The things never told
That took 24 years,
For the man to unfold.
Wept for the girl
And her band of gold.
I lay there in this bath
My arms holding me,
My eyes releasing me
And I felt you
Inside .
I hugged a little harder
I cried a little less
In the memory of your words
With a smile I was blessed
and as I climbed from the bath
And the towel drapped my body
As I dried the now cold water
From my cold cold body,
I felt you,twas your hand on my breast.
I have cried ,
I know I will again
Again and again
Until I am left free
Of this pain.
And still
.......I wept.
