(with apologies to Mr Sinatra)
And now the time is near
When litter gets its final round up
But friends please have no fear
Each rubbish bag is tightly bound up
She's cleaned each classroom floor
Swept corridors and down the highway
She's quick to tell you all
"I did it my way"
Upsets she's had a few
But then again too few to mention
The laughs have been there too
Locked cupboard door and old age pension
No more hall floors to wash
She always did that on a Friday
She's told the new recruit
"Just do it my way"
She's cleaned and brushed and wiped
For many years without complaining
She's worked and never griped
And throught it all her smile remaining
She's laughed and fooled around
She's had some fun, not in a shy way
She's proud of her own jokes
"I tell them my way"
We wish you health and love
And many years with your new grandson
We pray the Lord above
Will keep yopu safe and fit and handsome
The day that you're not here
Will be a sad and pretty poor day
But just enjoy your life
And do it your way
