The cook said to give it some 'thyme'
When waiting for a cake to bake
And to always use 'Basil'don Bond note paper
To write that epistle you might forget later
Those crucial dates that mean an empty wallet
Mark them red on a malapropism 'calendula'
Change it to strain vegetables and it's a colander
Coriander spices up a simple dish good and proper
So make it and taste it for a forthcoming supper
'Valerian' sounds like a 1960's TV race of aliens
In silver suits and phaser light beamy ray zap
Burdock, yellow dock, in the dock, Rock Around the Clock, hop(s)
Dandelion and Burdock is also 'Top of the Pops' (groan)
Muddled freshly divorced parents pay 'agrimony'
And that leaves Pop 'hop'ping mad and Mother(wort) fraught
Chamomile inches centimetre 'colts'foot yard millimetre
Measured in a 'fennel' tube and rage sage for ages when it spills
The chickweed in public. How rude. With no arnicas knickers
C'leavers' of this awful land, it's a hee hee 'hawthorn' in our
side
'Hyssop'worth camel over the Meadowsweet 'chervil'e land
Chervil is servile so it will bring your dinner fast
And all these growing items put canvas on your mast.
