Care

Feeling bad deep inside
I feel that all I can do
Is cry.
But crying alone,
Is something I can’t do.
I look for those who brought me,
And find them,
Only interested in caring
For the smoke, stench, glamour
Of the temptations of sin.
And I walk away
Damaged more
Because sin can only hurt.
I turn to my brothers and sisters,
And find them,
Only interested in shouting how
Ignorance is bliss.
And I walk away,
Damaged more
Because ignorance can’t love.
I look for friends,
And find them,
Only interested in pretending
Because care is superficial
And I walk away,
Damaged more
Because I want something real.
All that is left is me,
And I find myself
Realizing how much I can’t care
Can’t see
Can’t feel
The love around me.
And I walk away from me,
Pulling the trigger, causing me
To fall apart.
