It was a casual day on the Turkana dig, which meant that the weather was restlessly warm and chilling at night. Only few places offered any slight protection from the heat, Dr. Masuda's tent was one such place. Dr. Masuda had been in Kenya for the majority of the dig at Lake Turkana. The project had already been digging for weeks without any kind of reward as of yet. The signs had begun to show that the weather would soon be turning for the worst and that the dig would thusly have to be canceled. But Dr. Masuda and the other collaborators for the dig weren't just ready yet to throw in the towel on the dig. So on one of the final days of the proposed dig schedule that their long wait would soon pay off.
Dr. Masuda had been looking over the documents and data that had been collected during the previous week of the dig, when one of the dig squadron leaders had approached his tent. "¦Thanks. Concentrate on the northern cliff tomorrow. The ground there is hard, so be careful when you dig instructed Dr. Masuda to the supervisor.
"Yes, sir replied the supervisor. When another of the dig supervisors ran forward to Dr. Masuda's tent.
"Doctor! Dr. Masuda! urgently said by the second supervisor.
"What is it? asked Dr. Masuda "Did you find something?
"Yeah, we followed the corridor from the lakeside. It matches the location described on the research paper.
"That must be it! said Dr. Masuda, who knew automatically what the supervisor had told him. How cold he not know? He was the one who helped write the research paper in the first place. "Good, now show us where it is. Dr. Masuda then begins to walk to the location following the lead of the supervisor of the dig supervisor with the other supervisor closely tagging along behind the doctor.
"The site is different from the others said the dig supervisor.
"I knew it!
"The spot is over there said the dig supervisor. Dr. Masuda then kneeled down to expect the spot. The spot turned out to be an indented glyph which seemed to be like an elongated rectangle. Surrounding the glyph were strange symbols that Dr. Masuda barely understood the meaning of. It was at that moment that Dr. Masuda remembered that he had a metallic shape similar to the glyph.
"This must be¦ trailed off Dr. Masuda who then proceeded to take the metallic shape out of his shirt pocket. He then placed the metal shape into glyph which caused the surrounding symbols to glow along with the glyph. The blue glow then followed a straight line that led towards the lake. After the glow disappeared into the lake there was a brief moment of silence before the earth began to shake in a violent storm. Out of the lake popped out large metallic structures. The structures created an even path that soon led to the center of the lake. Once the structures had accomplished that feat the earth stopped shaking. And soon on the center platform appeared a transparent shape similar to glyph and the metallic shape that Dr. Masuda had placed inside the glyph. The transparent structure soon was no longer transparent but had become a solid golden colored shape floating even above the metallic platform. The structure remained calm for a brief time after its solidification. A strange blue light then began to float up from the top of the structure. "That light¦ trailed off Dr. Masuda. The light slowly climbed up the sky as if it were trying to reach the heavens. And once the tip of the light had escaped from the view on the surface a trickle of rain then began. The trickle soon became a downpour, almost as if the tears of God had begun to flow onto the earth out of heaven.
