Once Bitten Twice Shy
Jack an old tar, once sailed the coast
It never was known, for him to boast
One day whils't drunk, he told this tale
All about a killer whale
It had my arm inside it's jaws
But then there was a sudden pause
For I had pulled a gurney face
Within seconds, there was no trace
The whale no longer had the might
I'd given him such a bloody fright
Now Jack was basking in his glory
I didn't believe his fishy story
Until he showed, bitten on his back
I'll get you next time sailor Jack
From that day on, he's lived ashore
Once bitten twice shy, he sailed no more.
Could have been, this proverb started
In memory of Jack, when he departed.
