Autistic Child

The little boy
filled with
choking anguish
He knows there's
something wrong
He knows he's
not right -
He's on his
guard -
scared and
senseless -
trying to
contain himself
in one little
blue m&m
I show him
a picture of
a bright red
sports car
I talk about
his blue striped
baseball team
He can't focus
what's in his
world?
I want to fill
it with art and
literacy,peace
and love, doves,
halos, kittens
and crystals
I want him to
find self
expression as
he melts with
the yellow
sunbeams of love
I want him to
learn silly
rhymes and make
up his own,
"Spring is new
The sky is bright
blue."
I want to build
his self-esteem
and empower and
motivate him
filling him
with love and
poetry and
happiness...
