Teenage uncertainty

Imagining if only this, if only that
Your mind drooling to an exhausting overload,
No thoughts but these thoughts
Your mind goes to a gazing blank.
No focus to attend your mind to
Just a hormonal bonfire of emotion,
These chops and changes incinerate all the ships,
Those doting around you just ashes
Gratitude never offered to the fiery embers.
Each day a string of outfits
Your reflection is inflated by little esteem
And the embarassing hurling of jokes
Only inflates the mirror's imagination.
Why does image have to be superficial?
Perfected by those with nothing else to offer,
Surely something so trivial should mean less
Than your entire being, as in you the person?
Will the insecurity ever diminish,
To a bug you can stand on?
It may fade in time with love,
The confidence to love, Just a distance futurism,
It's just a shortcut to searing agony and tears.
But also loneliness is stamped out.
A second thought at every glance,
It Arouses these senses of uncertainty
and all this insecurity is surrounding,
Enclosing, suffocating to your last gasp.
