A Candle Flickers

A candle flame flickers
Sometimes bright sometimes dim
Depending on the air around
Which blows around the rim

Although at times it seems to give
A light shining very dull with no will to live
But then again its strength comes to bear
To hold its own against the air

Like the way we are when we're all right
One minute we seem so strong so bright
The next we pale just like the twilight
Drawing us in against the night

People are also like that you know
Sometimes seem to find that inner glow
When all seems lost and shadows fall
They bounce back up from against the wall

So always try and look inside yourself
You'll find that strength just like the shelf
Which has held up many a heavy book
But never bends it seems its weight it has took

So walk tall through this life let your heart be strong
Strive to do more right than wrong
Just like the candle in the wind that does glow
Sometimes more brighter than your own heart will show
