Contradictions
All I know is
I have a grown man's body
With a small child's strength.
What is missing are his energy and speed.
I got up one morning and mislaid them,
Along with a mouth
That can whistle and sing,
And a memory for numbers and names.
All I remember is
I left them safely
Somewhere I can find them
When I need them
Wrapped in brown paper,
Boxed up with string,
High on an upper shelf
I can no longer reach.
