Osprey, Osprey, in the sky,
Searching with your golden eyes,
For silver fish in pools of light,
Working through both day and night.
How did you gain your talons so long,
and your beak so sharp and strong?
How did you gain your feathers of brown,
From the soft and snowy down?
Why choose you from life's rich stream,
Did I see you in a dream?
Did I hear your piercing cry,
Just as then I ope'd my eye?
How doth thou sail on silent wing,
In an ever arching ring,
Til you see a fish so bright,
And fly at it with all your might?
Osprey, Osprey in the sky,
Searching with your golden eye,
for silver fish in pools of light,
working through both day and night.
