Population Problems

I don't know if the poetry days aren't over,
I don't know if this isn't dead,
I don't know if I should cover
my head in shame, or put the blame
on something distant and foriegn
to the honest chain of thought.
I don't know if there isn't a better way
to say what it is I have to say,
a way to make the whole world hear,
a way to make them glare,
a way to turn their snighs and sneers,
into hanging heads because they care.
But, before I start,
I want everyone to know
that this is only a single thought
from a person whose not in the know.
And before I get the caring crew
bashing my head in with bricks,
I want you to know I don't have the time
to write this stuff for kicks.
And let me make a few points clear,
I'm don't think we should let life stop down here,
or stop producing childrens minds
upon circular production lines
of education;
I just want some kind of promice
that the obviouse is done,
and my children don't grow up
wishing the West was ...
lost.
Now ask yourself what it's really worth,
The unwritten tragedy of birth.
It should be the greatest thing on earth
the unwritten tragedy of birth.
Where do you go?
Why are you born?
Are you worn by the earth like a medal of pride,
Look:
This is what I've created.
I'm so proud,
I'll say it loud,
I'm so fucking proud.
This creature of man,
Created like a ...
tin can
On a factory production mobile
Like steel
Like a VCR
Like a stereo,
Like a car
But
WE ARE NOT FACTORY PRODUCTION PEOPLE.
No race can create all different minds
Like you seem to create all different kinds
Of computer.
You're not likely to find a suitable suitor
With 6 billion people to chose from.
WE ARE NOT FACTORY PRODUCTION PEOPLE.
The point of our life is not simply to live,
The point of our life is to learn
To learn how to give our children a turn
To give them the chance to create
The utopian time we dreamt of
The paradise on earth,
We have to teach them now
To overcome it with their birth.
