Ocean Roars (The)

The ocean roars
my fears and
your tender heart
vulnerable, I shy away.
Evening falls and dark descends,
and visits each house,
like an old uncle.
'Joe' a name crayoned black
on a white door,
written with his hand, inscribed into my heart.
As wise the like you never saw,
goodbye to chiselled night,
torchlight moon to rhyme with June,
hush, hush, baby, it's alright.
Soft slow forgetting beat.
Little chanting melody, on a drum top, whistle wood,
sliding, sleeping so lo, so long.
