When the moon is red,
and clouds are abstract visions of intersecting orbs,
love flies
within time stopped twice in its own spaces.
In-between poetic lines written
upon a single breath of the wind,
you
hold your arms out to newspapers
and
magical incantations
trying
to understand the philosophy
of a
love that embraces your soul.
From a time created by wishes and dreams,
you
hold the gesture of a summer wind
entwining the colours
through your fingers as you speak.
Your hesitant smile fashions a nest
for the seagull
who
flies through the past,
the present,
and a reflection
of yet another reflection.
A gold band of sunlight
weaves
a pattern of leaves upon the eiderdown.
Morning and evening change colour
and
waltz through the barriers of time
to hold the words,
to open your eyes.
and
find yourself
upon the year
you held my gaze.
Within your eyes,
winter becomes the dawn of spring,
and summer lilacs bloom from memories
of
ice skating across the colour blue.
Sweaters that are woven
from yarn
spun during a summer's evening hours,
find the thread of conversation.
Love
embraces us in the arms of soft laughter
to cherish
the lamplight
that plays
with clouds of sunset colours and purple shadows.
Leaves whisper your name into my soul
while
the sea gazes into itself.
Words find your life
alighting its way into my heart:
blue orbs sketching silver triangles across my canvas.
The moon collides with summer morning sea-winds
in rooms lit by love;
your life holding an eternity of breathless wonder.
Questions
are answered before they are breathed into sound
then echoed into voice
as
time gathers flowers
within the embers of a tide pulled by an orange moon.
