You do not walk alone

You do not walk alone.
I have always been enamored of a warm biblical proverb, about a conversation that a man had with God, after the man had passed on.
The Good Lord showed the man two sets of footprints walking along the beach, explaining that he had walked side by side with him, except for several periods of great stress and tragedy in the man’s life.
The man looked up and said “In those difficult periods of my life, I was walking alone, Lord. Why did you not accompany me then?”
The Good Lord smiled at the man and said. “During those very difficult times my son, those are my footprints. For it was I who carried you through those difficult times.”
I like to think that we all do that for each other at times, carrying friends and family on our shoulders, during very difficult times, like the man featured. Our friends and family can sometimes be at their lowest ebb and think that they are walking alone, even though we are there supporting them. Look around you and value your friends and family for the wonderful support that they give you, even when you may not be aware of their help.
And when you can, reach out and “carry” them along that difficult path
in life, when they most need your help.
