"You see they wouldn't listen. And now see the sticky fix they are
in!"
I am an art teacher. A fun job to an outsider, but you haven't
seen
anything yet. Today, the students are making an airplane out of
construction paper. I have several colors available and at each desk,
I
have set out scissors, paste and instructions. Guiding them
through
the process one slow step at a time, I must breathe and be patient.
At
times, this job has me at my wit's end!
I wonder why the boys gather together at the back of the
classroom
whispering and laughing.
And sharing art supplies?
"Boys, what are you up to back there?"
"Nothing ." reply the boys in unison.
Suddenly, a burst of laughter from the back of the classroom. And
then
pandemonium.
One boy, another and then still another.
Say the same dreaded word.
"Shit!"
Andy comes running to my desk and in a second I can sum up the
situation.
Or actually the joke that is supposed to be on me.
But turns around on them.
I told the students about staying out of my teacher's supply
cabinet.
But they wouldn't listen.
Well, the boys got in a sticky situation when they decided to ditch
the
paste and use Crazy Glue to paste their airplanes together.
Save time. I think not.
Crazy Glue fingers!
Teacher to the rescue with a handy bottle of nail polish remover.
And an, "I told you so, smile on my face."
